Robert G. Bedford

Robert G. Bedford, 73, of Mason City, formerly of Wesley, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City due to complications of emphysema.

Funeral services for Robert Bedford will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 2:30 PM at the Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West, in Britt with Pastor Lee Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Visitation for Robert Bedford will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Bob was born September 17, 1936 in Britt, Iowa son of Edward and Lois (Swaney) Bedford. He received his education in the Britt and Corwith schools. Bob was married to Barbara Riley but later divorced. He mainly worked in construction and erecting grain elevators in the Midwest and Northwest. In later years he worked for the city of Wesley.

Bob is survived by one daughter Robbin Snavely (Tim VanHauen), one grandson Cody and one granddaughter Brooklyn all of Mason City; one sister Marian Dalland of Owatonna, Minnesota also survives him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Lois Bedford; two brothers: Roland of Santee, California and Elmer of Corwith; and one sister LaVonne Schweertman of Roland.

Bob will be remembered for his great sense of humor and jokes. He will be sadly missed.
