Robert “Bob” Johnson, the son of Konrad and Rose Mae (Kastler) Johnson, was born on November 21, 1925 in Clarion, Iowa.  He attended school in Clarion and worked for Fritz Brinkman at the gas station running his tank wagon.

Bob joined the Navy on September 27, 1944 and helped load ammunition ships in Bremerton, Washington during the war.  When he was discharged on April 15, 1946 Bob moved back to Clarion where he began work at the elevator.

In 1950, Deloris Nath moved to Clarion from Perry to find work.  Bob met her, fell in love and the two were united in marriage in 1954 at the First Lutheran Church in Clarion.  They made their home in Clarion while Bob continued to work at the elevator until his retirement.

Even in his retirement Bob knew that he needed to keep busy, so he started driving the CAT Van helping others get where they needed to go.  He also looked after several people making sure they made it to any appointments they had scheduled.

Bob was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Clarion, the Odd Fellows and the American Legion where he was a past commander.  He enjoyed woodworking and helping others.

Bob is survived by his wife, Deloris of Clarion; niece, Evelyn Askelsen of Eagle Grove; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and eleven brothers and sisters.
