Obituary
Robert Leon Foster, 76, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 1998, at Heritage Care Center in Mason City, Iowa.
Robert, the son of Ivel and Blanche (Benzler) Foster, was born July 25, 1922 in Britt, Iowa. He attended country school near Britt. On February 21, 1942 he was united in marriage with Bertha Jensen. The couple made their home in the Britt area.
He served his country in the United States Army from March of 1943 to October of 1945. After being discharged the couple farmed near Upper Flat north of Britt where they have resided since.
He was a member in the Britt American Legion Post.
Robert is survived by his wife Bertha; four daughters: Judy Crockett of Ankeny, IA, Janet Johnson and her husband, Leonard of Des Moines, Jeanne Martin and her husband, John of Cheyenne, WY, Joan O'Connell and her husband Harley of Cedar Falls, IA; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two sons-in-law: David Crockett of Fargo, ND and Fred Gabelmann of Derry, NH; four sisters: Ruth Hughes, Downey, CA, Jean Larson, Venice, CA, Betty Missman, Des Moines, IA, Darlene Swinding, Apple Valley, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Jacqlyn, one great grandson John Robert Martin and one sister Evelyn.
