Obituary
Robert L. Johnson, 77, of Britt passed away Saturday, March 6, 2004, at his home in Britt.
Robert L. Johnson, the son of John B. and Estella (Duncan) Johnson, was born May 9, 1926, on the farm southwest of Britt. He attended country schools in Boone and Erin Township. Bob was baptized, confirmed and a member of the Stilson E.U.B. Church, later transferring to the United Methodist Church in Britt.
On March 24, 1947, Bob and Elizabeth L. (Bettie) Harriman were married at the Little Brown Church, Nasua, Iowa. To this union Lee, John B. and Scott were born. Bob and Bettie lived and farmed south of Britt until 1992, when they moved into town.
Bob was a custom operator in corn shelling, combining, and trucking from the late "40's" until the mid "90's" along with farming.
Bob's life centered around his family, friends, and anything to do with farming. He was very proud of his three sons and their families. No person was a stranger very long as he loved to visit with people. Bob liked to bowl, camp, and go on "crop checking" rides.
Bob is survived by his wife, Elizabeth L. (Bettie) Johnson of Britt; three sons: Lee (Chris) Johnson of Richburg, South Carolina, John B. (Linda) Johnson and their daughter Whitney of Britt, Scott (Tammy) Johnson and their sons Ryan and Justin of Britt; aunt Mrs. L.P. (Jennie) Johnson of Burnsville, Minnesota; nephews: Ron Haugland and family of Colorado and Larry Haugland and family of Eldridge, Iowa; in-laws: Bill and Mary Harriman of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Bob Harriman of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Kay and Allan Craig of Andover, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents J.B. and Estella Duncan Johnson; sister Lois Haugland and husband Grant, and in-laws Bill and Naomi Harriman.
