Robert L. Miller, 91 of Britt, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Muse Norris Inpatient Hospice Unit in Mason City.

Graveside services for Robert Miller will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Amsterdam Township Cemetery in rural Kanawha, with Pastor Janelle Siffring officiating.

Robert L. Miller was born February 10, 1927 to Roy and Alpha (Blake) Miller in Villisca, Iowa.

He joined the Navy at 17 years of age and served from 1944 to 1946.  He served in the Pacific and was very proud to have been a Navy Seabee.

Bob was a life member of the VFW of Garner, Iowa and a member of Post 0315 of the American Legion in Britt and Navy Club in Sunrise Beach, Missouri.  He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Britt.

He worked 20 years for Winnebago Industries, retiring in 1986 for health reasons.  Bob moved from Forest City to Crystal Lake in 1976.

In 1979 Bob married his loving wife Betty Rhoads Jordanger.  The couple moved to Laurie, Missouri in 1992 where they made their home until returning to Britt in November of 1999.  Bob loved woodworking and the out of doors.  He was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes the Chicago Cubs, and the Green Bay Packers.

Bob is survived one daughter Bobbi Jo and her children; his loving nieces and nephew: Pamela, Peggy, Julie, William; two step children: Bruce, Connie; step-grandchildren: Nichole (Chris) Swisher of Norwalk, T.J. (Melissa) Steinbrunn of Lamar, Colorado, Tara Steinbrunn of Grand Junction, Colorado; four great-grandchildren; Kaitlyn and Zachary Swisher and Ashlynn and Ryan Steinbrunn; Bob Burns and his family, Jennifer McKibben, Shannon Burns, and dog Emily; numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, one sister Ruth Wensel, one brother Clarence Miller and step-son Rodney Jordanger.
