Robert Henry, son of Elmer and Laura (Kuhn) Loux was born on April 5, 1942 at
the hospital in Clarion. Bob grew up in Clarion and graduated from Clarion High
School when he was 16 years old. In 1959, Bob was 4th in the state as a 103
pound wrestler. After high school, Bob went to junior college in Eagle Grove and
later joined the Army National Guard for 21 years.
On April 3, 1965, Bob was united in marriage to Constance Tegland at St. Olaf
Lutheran Church in rural Belmond. Bob and Connie made their home on the farm
near Clarion where they raised their three children. Besides farming, Bob sold
seed and worked at Monsanto during the winter for 50 years.
Bob was a 4-H leader for years and involved with FFA. He enjoyed socializing and
coffee (or Nectar of God's as he would call it) at Grounded every morning. He
never met a stranger! Bob loved all sports but especially loved watching the
Minnesota Twins, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Iowa State Cyclones. He was a farmer
at heart. He loved being in the field and growing pumpkins and sweet corn for
family and friends. Bob was an active member of the United Church of Christ
Congregational. He also sang with the Choralaires as a charter member for 30
years.
Bob's family was most important to him. He loved spending time with each
grandchild whether it was playing cards or golfing or supporting them at their
sporting event.
Bob is survived by his wife Connie of Clarion; son Thomas (Stacy) Loux of Sugar
Land, Texas and their children Paige Loux and Josh Loux; son Matthew (Elaine)
Loux of Liberty, Missouri and their children Amanda (George) Golightly and their
son Ryder Golightly, Derek Loux and Bryce Loux; daughter Ellen (Troy) Krumm of
Ankeny and their children Caleb Krumm and Owen Krumm; brother Kenneth (Kathy)
Loux of Dunwoody, Georgia and sister Sharon TerHark of Clarion.
He is preceded in death by his parents; aunt Sadie Kuhn; and brother-in-law
Larry TerHark.
