Obituary


Robert Marshall, 85, Clarion, Iowa passed away Sunday, July 16, 2006 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Robert Gerald Marshall, son of H. Ralph and Ethel (McCormick) Marshall was born September 17, 1920 in Lincoln Township, Wright County, Iowa. Robert attended rural school in Lincoln Township and graduated from Clarion High School in 1939. On March 13, 1949 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Lueck at First Lutheran Church, to this union three children were born, Carol, Kay, and Jim. Robert and Marilyn had been married for 57 years. Robert began farming in 1942 and farmed on the same place for over fifty years. Over the years he had been active in the Wright County Dairy Association, the state and district Guernsey Association, Northwest Iowa Breeders Association, served as an ASCS township committee man, was a Wright County Fair Board Director for 25 years, a 4-H leader for 13 years and had been a long time member of the Lions Club. Robert was a member of the First Lutheran Church where he served as an usher, funeral usher, and had been on the Endowment Committee, Long Range Planning Committee and a member of the Church Council. Robert is survived by his wife, Marilyn, three children, Carol and husband Roger Kellison of Plattsmouth, NE, Kay and husband Allyn Anderson of LeMars, and Jim Marshall and wife Marsha of Ft. Lupton, CO. Also three grandchildren, Kristi Waszak, Brandley Hanson, and Layne Britton; five step grandchildren, Bryce Anderson, Dane Anderson, Sonja Gertstenberger, Jeff Kellison, and Jonn Kellison; two great-granddaughters; a step great-granddaughter. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Rush Marshall.
