Robert Dale Reibsamen, 74, of Corwith died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt. Bob was born March 15, 1931, in Britt, Iowa, the son of Forrest and Fern (Fillenwarth) Reibsamen.  Bob was a graduate of Britt High School, Britt Junior College, and the Wisconsin School of Banking. Bob married LaDonna Glieden of LuVerne at the Livermore Catholic Church on June 29, 1950.  Thereafter, they resided in Corwith and raised a wonderful family of four children. Bob worked in the Corwith State Bank for 46 years, where he performed many roles including Director and Vice-President.  In addition to working at the bank, Bob also left his mark in Corwith serving as an avid volunteer.  One of his most prominent volunteer efforts was his 46 years as a Corwith Firemen, 15 of which he served as the Corwith Fire Chief.  Additionally, he was a volunteer EMT for WHAS for 15 years.  During the time period, Bob was the initiator of the Emergency Satellite program in Corwith.  Bob also served two terms as the Corwith Mayor and numerous terms as a City Councilman. Bob's services expanded beyond Corwith and into all of Hancock County.  He served as Hancock County Supervisor for two terms, on the Hancock County Compensation Board, on the County Board of Health, and on the Economic Development Board of Directors. As the State level, Bob recent volunteer services included serving for the Elderbridge Agency of Aging, and the State OIL (Older Iowan's Legislature).  Bob also was a member of the Hancock County Republican Central Committee and served as Secretary of the Britt Alumni Association for the past 15 years. As a result of his many years of volunteer efforts, Bob received numerous awards including; 1990 Iowa Volunteer Hall of Fame, Iowa Governor's Leadership Award, and the Britt Alumnus of the Year. Bob made an impression on many people's lives with his caring nature.  In addition to all of the aforementioned volunteer efforts, Bob will be remembered as the Corwith Santa Claus that delivered Salvation Army care packages to the young and old, or for the Boy Scout Leader that took his family and troops to Philmont Boy Scout Camp in Cimmeron, New Mexico, both of which he did for many decades. In his spare time (believe it or not, he had spare time), Bob enjoyed spending time outdoors.  "Reibo" enjoyed fishing many years with all of his fishing buddies in Canada. He enjoyed bird watching, hunting, spending time with his family, playing with his dog Astro, learning the new technologies, and a good cigar. Bob is survived by his wife, LaDonna of Corwith; four children, including two sons; Cary and wife Nicole Reibsamen of Cayucos, California and Tom and wife Eliane Reibsamen of Hollister, California.  Two daughters Kathie and husband Bob Kittel of Long Beach, California and daughter, Susan and husband David Weiland of Britt, Iowa. Three grandchildren, Candace and husband Paul Daniels, of Parkersburg, Iowa. Hans Kittel and Heidi Kittel, both of Long Beach, California.  Five step-grandchildren including; Michael and Marson McCoy, Diane and husband Anthony Devera, Lisa and husband Robert Netzeley, and Gina Cainiello, all of California.  Two great-grandchildren; Monroe Daniels of Parkersburg, Iowa and Samantha Elm of Long Beach, California.  Two step-great-grandchildren; Joseph Devera and Connor McCoy, both of California.  One brother, Bill and wife Betty Reibsamen of Hampton, Iowa.  One sister, Janet West of Forest City, Iowa.  One sister-in-law, Lucille and husband Charles Hall of Colorado Springs, Colorado.  One brother-in-law, Raymond Domek of Emmetsburg, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Fern Reibsamen.
