Obituary


Robert W. Post, 90, formerly of Boone, passed away peacefully Monday, October 31, 2011 at Careage of Clarion in Clarion.

Memorial services for Robert Post will be 4:00 PM on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at First Lutheran Church in Clarion with Pastor Ron Nelson officiating.  Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Bob was born August 1, 1921 in Barron, Wisconsin. He was the son of Ed and Blanche Post, and was the youngest of five siblings.

Bob graduated from Barron High School in 1939, and also from Minneapolis Business College. He served in the Army during World War II, spending 32 months overseas in North Africa and Italy. Upon his return from the service, Bob enjoyed his true passion for music by forming the dance band, Bob Post and The Rhythm Kings, later passing his love of music onto his children.

On June 19, 1948, Bob married Naomi A. Post in the Dovre Lutheran Church in Dovre, Wisconsin. Together they had three children and lived in Boone for more than 50 years.

While in Boone, Bob was a member and past treasurer of Grace Episcopal Church and served many years in the offices of Hallett Construction Company and Boone Construction Company.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings Katherine, Clarence, Lorraine, and Jack.

He is survived by Naomi, his wife of 63 years; sons Ronald (Carol) Post and Bradley (Sandra) Post, and daughter Pamela Bradshaw. Eight grandchildren:  Ryan Post, Jason (Katie) Post, Michael Post, Alexis (Benjamin) Martin, as well as Katie, Clark, Becky and Lisa Bradshaw; and six great-grandchildren.
