Robert "Bob" Wallace, 77, of Holmes, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 at his
home.
Memorial services for Robert "Bob" Wallace will be held at 6:30 PM on Monday,
August 9, 2021, at Rolling Hills Community Church, 2891 North 15th Street in
Fort Dodge, Iowa with Pastor David Barton officiating.
Visitation for Robert "Bob" Wallace will be held from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM at
the church on Monday evening.
Robert Paul Wallace, the son of Paul and Florence (Melocik) Wallace, was born
June 11, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio. Bob grew up around the Cleveland area and
where he proudly joined the United States Army in 1962.
Bob served with the 1st Calvary overseas in Korea during the Vietnam Era. He
often patrolled the Korean DMZ Line. He was honorable discharged after three
years of service for his Country. While at Fort Benning, fate stepped in and Bob
met the love of his life, Anna Smith.
The couple was united in marriage on June 5, 1965 in Phoenix City, Alabama. They
moved back to Cleveland, Ohio where Bob worked a few jobs before finding the
right fit at Eaton Air Flex. He was a machinist working 31 years before retiring
in June of 2004.
Bob started his retirement by moving to Holmes, Iowa. He truly enjoyed his
retirement and kept busy by woodworking. He was a true craftsman that could turn
recycled wood into beautiful treasures. He often made birdhouses and even had
one featured in Our Iowa magazine. He also was a train enthusiast.
Being a man of faith, Bob showed his love for the Lord by doing Kingdom Work. He
was a part of the Clown Ministries in Ohio and an active member of the Rolling
Hill Community Church.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Anna Wallace of Holmes; sisters Mary Joy
(Tino) Esquivel and Paula Sue Galicki; brother Alfred (Maria) Wallace along with
many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Darlene, and brothers William
and Dennis.
