Rodney L. Klein, 54, of Eagle Grove passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services for Rodney Klein will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the New Hope Lutheran Church, 1115 Southwest 2nd Street in Eagle Grove, with Reverend Susan Stone officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, November 4, 2016 at the New Hope Lutheran Church, 1115 Southwest 2nd Street in Eagle Grove. Rodney Lloyd Klein, the son of Robert V. and Beulah J. (Read) Klein, was born March 31, 1962 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove. He served in the United States Army in 1982. Rodney loved hunting, fishing, trapping, singing and playing guitar, and spending time with family and friends. Rodney is survived by his wife Laurie Thompson-Klein of Eagle Grove; children Jeremy Thompson (Jessenda) of Eagle Grove, Koby Klein of Michigan, Rosebud Klein-Beaver of Burt, Kenny Kreitlow (Amber) of Eagle Grove, Beau Klein (Amy) of Goldfield and Amber Estrada (Noe) of Eagle Grove; siblings Robert Klein, Jr. (Mary) of Duncombe, Linda Cottrill of West Virginia, Danny Klein of Fort Dodge, Vickie Soma of Arizona, LuAnne Pedersen (Jeff) of Eagle Grove, Sherry Hanson of South Dakota, Larry Miller (Marcia) of South Dakota, and Dawn Miller of South Dakota; 14 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Wilbur "Wayne" and Rosebud Read, and Earl and Cynthia Klein; parents Robert Klein Sr., Beulah Miller and William Miller; siblings Sharon Allison, Dennis Klein and Denise Klein; son-in-law Jason Beaver; grandson Dominick Perez; and many uncles, aunts and cousins. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
