Roger Naaman Seefeld, the son of Naaman and Esther (Crone) Seefeld, was born on August 24, 1940, in Winnebago County, Iowa. He grew up on the family farm near Woden and graduated from Woden High School in 1958.
During his high school years, Roger worked alongside his father on the family farm, something he continued to do throughout his life. He also worked at Winnebago Industries and the Woden Co-op. Farming was not just his work, but his way of life. Roger was a quiet and hardworking man who rarely sought attention and preferred to let his actions speak for him. He took great pride in the family farm and was especially skilled at raising and selling hogs. His strong work ethic and dedication to the land were evident throughout his life.
Roger was united in marriage to Phyllis Stites on July 16, 1977, at the Woden Christian Reformed Church where Roger was a faithful and active member. The couple raised their family on the farm and enjoyed taking camping trips together.
In his spare time, Roger enjoyed restoring old tractors and cars and was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed entertaining children on the farm with go-karts and dune buggies, and many have fond memories of the fun they shared with him there.
Roger especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Ranae. They often attended the races and car shows together, creating many memories that will be treasured.
He is survived by his daughters Ranae Seefeld of Algona, Christine (Greg) McNeese of Britt and Elizabeth (Kevin) White of Spencer; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Marilyn Coon and Carol (Dean) Dolphin along with several nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis Seefeld, sister Sharon Hayward and brothers-in-laws Jerry Hayward and Dallas Coon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Exceptional Opportunities in Algona.
