Obituary


Rollin Ardell Perkins, 85, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 1995, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa, following a two year illness.

Rollin was born on June 1, 1909, in Corwith, Iowa, to Delbert James and Mary Jane (Chase) Perkins. He was educated at the Britt Community School.  As a young man, he moved to Illinois.  In 1934, he was united in marriage with Anna Ginder at Bloomington, Illinois.  The couple moved to Britt and later back to Illinois.  Rollin served in the European Theater with the U.S. Army from 1943 - 1945.  Following his Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army in 1945, the couple moved back to Britt and Rollin then took over as owner and operator of his father's Perkins Auto Salvage business.

Rollin is survived by two sisters: Helen Hoover and her husband, Robert of Britt, Iowa and Blanche Sluik of Britt; one brother Robert Perkins and his wife, Ella of Willows, California, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Anna on September 18, 1988, six brothers and two sisters.
