RoseAnne was born October 9, 1926 in Clarion, Iowa to Ben J Mraz and Roseanne Stupka Mraz. RoseAnne grew up on the family farm in Eagle Grove, attended High School at Holy Family in Mason City and then studied at St Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana.

On June 7, 1947, she married Robert W. Hecox at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clarion. They were blessed with three daughters, Paula, Janet and Mary Jane. In 1959, they made their home in Spencer, Iowa where RoseAnne prided herself in being a loving wife, mother and career woman, employed with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs for 30 years. She showed her compassion for others by volunteering at the Spencer Hospital and by being an advocate for residents at Long House Nursing Home and Northshire Residence. With love of the Northern waters, summer months were spent in Canada, Minnesota and Lake Okoboji, making priceless memories with her family. Winter months were spent in Corpus Christi and Galvaston Island, Texas.

RoseAnne was devoted to her faith as a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. She enjoyed music & playing the piano, reading, gardening, walking, movies, and especially spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. There was no one more committed to family than RoseAnne, dedicating her kind, gentle spirit to taking care of everyone she loved.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Paula Gwen (Charles) Swope of Oakland, Iowa and Mary Jane White of Iowa City, Iowa; Grandchildren, Jennifer Anne Swope (Shawn) Danker of Guthrie Center, Iowa, Steven Joseph (Emi) Swope of Adel, Iowa, Robert Charles (McKaylenn) Swope of Zion Crossing, Virginia, Sarah Jane White (Kyle) Kew of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Great-Grandchildren, Shelby O’Neal, Sydney Rose, Sophie Janet, and Seth Jansen Danker, Bennett William, Presley Ann, and Beckett Joseph Swope, and upcoming baby Kew twins.

RoseAnne rejoins her loved ones and is now reunited with her devoted husband Robert W. Hecox, her loving daughter Janet B. Vogt, her parents Ben and Roseanne Mraz, and brothers, Paul, Edward and Frank. Her idea was not to live forever, but to create something that will.
