Rosetta F. Brown, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 6,
1997, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital.
Rosetta, the daughter of Frank and Ellen (Schutjer) Pommer, was born September
22, 1918, in Woden, Iowa. She grew up on the farm south of Woden and went to
country school for eight years after learning the English language. She
completed three years of high school and then received her GED in 1977. She was
united in marriage with Robert Williams Brown on September 29, 1926, and farmed
in northern Iowa until the mid 1960's, she then worked at Winnebago until her
retirement. Rosetta was very active in church and attending Bible Study. She
loved to play the piano for various organizations and at special functions. She
loved crafts, sewing, crocheting, quilting, gardening, fishing, woodworking and
visiting with friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son - Robert Wayne, her husband, and
a sister.
Rosetta is survived by her children, Garry and his wife, Dottie of Corwith,
Iowa; Ronald and his wife, Joan of Mason City, Iowa; Fernellyn Brown of
Crestline, California; five grandchildren: Mike, Tracy and her fiance, Ron
Marshall, Darla, Andy and his fiancee, Tara Smith, Dough and his wife, Shirin;
five great-grandchildren: Danielle, Kaitlyn, Timothy, Kenyan and Cierra; and one
sister, Thresa Benner of Humboldt, Arizona.
