Rosie (Lewerke) Brunsen, 92 of Britt passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Good Samaritan Center in Forest City. Funeral services for Rosie Brunsen will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Bethel Baptist Church, 480 Main Avenue North, in Britt with Pastor Greg Baum officiating.  Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and continue one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Thursday. Rosie (Lewerke) Brunsen was born on May 7, 1925 in Hollandale, Minnesota to Harm and Jennie (Miller) Lewerke. She was united in marriage to Henry Brunsen on June 7, 1952 in Britt. Rosie enjoyed making rugs and did machine quilting for many years.  She also made crafts and attended many craft shows with her sisters.  Rosie would always have the coffee pot on in case family stopped by. She was a faithful member of the Bethel Baptist Church and accepted the Lord as her Saviour at a young age.  She was active in the church with Bible School, AWANA, and Ladies Missionary Fellowship. She was very caring and dedicated to her family and was always willing to help when she could. Rosie is survived by her children Sylvia and Karen of Britt; two sisters, Jennie Forshee and Eileen (Clifford) Smith also of Britt; brother-in-law Marvin Sherman of Wilton, Iowa; sisters-in-law Betty Ann Lewerke of Britt and Mary Ann Brunsen of Waseca, Minnesota along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 1988, three sisters Ella, Susan and Gertrude, and four brothers Pete, Jake, Elzo, and Harm.
