Rovena J. Waechter, 84, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Chandler, Arizona and Boone,
Iowa passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Friendship Haven, TMHC in Fort
Dodge.
Memorial graveside services for Rovena Waechter will be held on Friday, October
26, 2012, at 11:00 AM at the Linwood Park Cemetery, in Boone with Pastor Bill
Kem officiating.
Rovena, the daughter of George Harris and Grace (Wigg) Wisecup was born on April
9, 1928, in Cass Township, Boone County. As a child her family moved to the
Ogden area, where she attended school and graduated from Ogden High School.
After graduation, Rovena attended Boone Junior College.
On June 22, 1947, Rovena was united in marriage to William H. Waechter at the
First Presbyterian Church in Boone. The couple made their home in Ogden and then
Boone, where she worked at the Boone County Hospital.
Rovena and William moved to Arizona in 1975, and resided there until 2005, when
they moved back to Clarion. Rovena worked until retirement for Desert Samaritan
Hospital while in Arizona. In 2007, they moved to Friendship Haven in Fort
Dodge.
Rovena was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Boone, the Order of
Eastern Star and Questors (antiquing). She enjoyed gardening, sewing, antiques
and pets.
Rovena is survived by her daughter, Julianne (Warren) Clausen of Clarion; son,
William J. (Cathy) Waechter of Lake Mathews, California; three grandchildren,
Kimberly Clausen, Tyler Waechter and Jordan Waechter; sisters, Rosemary (Don)
Kemmerer of Boone, Lois (Donovan) Crouch of Storm Lake, Caryl Telford of
Springfield, Missouri, Janelle (Jon) Paulsen of Beaverton, Oregon and a brother,
George (Carla) Wisecup of Boone.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and infant daughter, Janice
Mae.
