Ruth Nancy Krage was born February 2, 1936 to George and Dorothy (Trok) Krage in Winona, Minnesota. She was raised and educated in Winona, and graduated from Winona High School.

Ruth was united in marriage to Charles Radechel on May 28, 1955. To this union, four children were born. The family made their home in Winona before moving to Clarion in 1959. Charles passed away in 1999. Ruth later married Earle Davis, he passed away in 2007.

Ruth worked a variety of jobs over the years, including time at Central Electric. Eventually she became employed by Clarion Housing and was an award winning site manager. Her most important role was as a stay at home mom for her children.

Ruth is widely known for her talents as a baker, most notably for her “Ruthie Rolls.” She began baking this recipe for a young lady with food allergies, and word quickly spread about how great they were. She baked countless thousands of dozens of rolls over the course of several decades, along with cookies, pies and bars. Ruthie Rolls have been enjoyed in dozens of states as far away as Alaska.

Ruth was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Clarion, having served on church council, as a Sunday school teacher, confirmation mentor, in the choir, and also completing the Bethel Series. She also volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels, 4-H, Cub Scouts, MIRHA board, Senior Center board, S.A.L.T. board and with various other organizations over the years.

In addition to baking and cooking, Ruth enjoyed visiting and drinking coffee with the ladies, bowling, roller-skating and gardening.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered for her contagious smile and laughter, as well as her positive attitude.

Ruth is survived by her children, Scott (Kristin) Radechel of Goldfield, Kristi (Paul) Cawthorn of Des Moines, Craig Radechel of Clear Lake and Anne (Ken Skinner) Radechel of Humboldt; her grandchildren Emily (Justin) Askvig, Derek (Abby Urness) Radechel, Renee’  Cawthorn, Aaron (Amanda) Cawthorn, Brenna (Patrick) Keating, Riana (Cory) Thorpe, Jacqueline (David) Hill, Ian Oliver, and Mikya (Cody Lundy) Oliver; great-grandchildren Madeline, Wyatt, Charlotte, Alice, Jonah, Kira, Jocelyn, Charles, Collins, Ella, Lennox, Mavis and Owen; brother Jack Krage; along with members of the Davis family, other extended family and friends.
