Sally Sweers, 87, of Britt, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Westview Care Center in Britt. Funeral service for Sally Sweers will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 28, 2022 at First Lutheran Church, 70 5th Avenue Northwest in Britt with Pastor Anna Wolf officiating.  Visitation will be held Monday, February 28, 2022 from 9:00-11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church, 70 5th Avenue Northwest in Britt. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Sally, the daughter of Herb and Ona (Prelip) Nessa was born June 16, 1934 in Forest City, Iowa. She grew up and received her education in Forest City. Sally was united in marriage to Herman Sweers on January 20, 1954. Within a couple of years, they moved to the "Home Place" in the Britt area raising a family of four. Sally was a busy homemaker.  She was a good cook, loved to garden, a wonderful seamstress and even helped drive tractor in the field. Later on she went to work as a CNA for the nursing homes in Britt and Titonka. Her love of shopping was put to the test when they built their retirement home in Britt and was able to decorate it. She had many hobbies to spark her interests such as plantings flowers, collecting stain glass angels, precious moments and putting together 1000 piece puzzles and playing card games. (And yes her favorite color is purple.) Sally is survived by her husband Herman Sweers of Britt; four children, Michael Sweers of Britt, Peggy Ennis and her husband Patrick of Goodell, Danny Sweers of Earlham and his wife Terri, Jody Sweers of Belmond; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is proceeded in her death by her parents, Herb and Ona Nessa and three of her siblings, Pauline, Tom and Gloria. CLICK HERE to view memorial video.
