Scherry June Kyhl, 61, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 1995, at the Westview
Care Center in Britt, Iowa.
Scherry was born on January 10, 1934, in Algona, Iowa, to Albert "Shorty" and
Edna (Hiller) Davis. She attended school in Titonka and graduated from the
Titonka High School in 1952. On May 29, 1952, Scherry was united in marriage
with Denny Kyhl in Algona, Iowa. The couple made their home in Britt until
moving to San Jose, California in the 1960's. They lived in California for a
few years before returning to California until 1988. Scherry lived at home
until entering the Westview Care Center in May of 1995. She loved to fish. She
also enjoyed playing cards and croquet and traveling with her husband. She was
a member of the Kappa Mu Sigma Alpha Sorority in San Jose, California. Scherry
was a member of the United Methodist Church and took part in the United
Methodist Women Circles. She was also a volunteer at the Westview Care Center.
Survivors include her husband, Denny of Britt; her children, Dianna Frederick of
Bozeman, Montana; Mark and his wife, Barb of Britt; Debbie Younger and her
husband, Michael of Britt; eight grandchildren: Shawn, Brenden, Amber, Michele,
Allison, Sondra, Damien and Jennifer; six sisters: Betty Burtis and her husband,
Glen of Ledyard, Iowa; Mary Thompson of Algona, Iowa; Alma Bergerson of
Estherville, Iowa; Barbara Fisher and LeRoy of Cambria, Minnesota; Marilyn Adams
and her husband, Carl of Forest City, Iowa; Peggy Holck and her husband, Marvin
of Britt, Iowa; two brothers: Elwood Davis and his wife, Shirley of Morgantown,
Kentucky; Jack Davis and his wife, Marge of Eldon, Missouri; her mother-in-law,
Evelyn Kyhl of Britt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Scherry was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
