Sharon Ilene (Pyle) Montgomery, 72, of Belmond, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at MercyOne North Iowa in Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 29, 2026, at Ewing Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South in Belmond. Graveside service will follow the visitation in the Belmond Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sharon’s family.

Sharon was born on November 18, 1953 at the Clarion hospital to Raymond and Katherine (Michelsen) Pyle. Sharon attended school in Clarion and graduated from Clarion High School. Following high school, Sharon went on to graduate from Iowa Central Community College in Eagle Grove. As Sharon was growing up, she was in 4-H and raised hogs to show at the Wright County Fair. She loved growing up on the farm and always said how much fun she had! Sharon attended Holmes Lutheran Church as a child and was confirmed there.

On July 3,1993, Sharon married Jeff Montgomery in Belmond. In 1994, they were blessed with their son, Skylar. Over the years, Sharon and Jeff loved taking trips to the lake to fish and camp. She worked at the Iowa Falls newspaper, and later at Farm and Home in Belmond for many years.

Sharon was a wonderful aunt and enjoyed playing games outside with her nieces and nephews - giving her siblings a chance to catch up with their parents.

Sharon is survived by her son Skylar Montgomery (Tasha) of Sheffield; granddaughter Athena; sister Barbara (Michael) Aubrey of Ankeny; brother David (Dawn) Pyle of Marshalltown; brother-in-law Jim (Kathleen) Montgomery of State Center; sisters-in-law Janice Robinson of Iowa Falls, Carol (Ronald) Vierkandt of Alden, Judy (Karl) Brockett of Norwalk; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She’s preceded in death by her husband Jeff in 2015; her parents; grandparents; and sisters Diane, Mary, Donna and Betty Lou.
