Sheryl S. Sego, 82, of Clarion, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at her
home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Ewing
Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion. Burial will be in Cass Center
Cemetery, rural Webster City.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the
funeral home.
Sheryl Sue, daughter of Melvin and Thelma (Hurst) Nairn, was born on August 28,
1940 in Webster City. She grew up on the family farm near Webster City. She
attended country school until high school. She graduated from Webster City High
School in 1959.
In 1960, Sheryl was united in marriage to John Sego at Asbury Methodist Church
in Webster City. In 1962, they made their home near Clarion where they raised
their children. Sheryl worked at All Star Pro Golf before working at the school
as a cook, retiring after 35+ years. After retirement, Sheryl enjoyed her weekly
coffee mornings with friends.
Sheryl was a true, hard working farm girl. She grew up on the farm, always
outside helping with chores and doing outside work. While their children were
growing up, Sheryl loved going on the horse trails at Brushy Creek and being
involved with their 4H livestock.
The most important thing to Sheryl was her family. She loved spending time with
her children and grandchildren and was always their biggest cheerleader.
Sheryl is survived by her husband John; children Marty Sego and Sonya (Rod)
Middleton; grandchildren Adam Flege, Alex Flege, Nate Sego, Alex Sego, Brentcint
Middleton, Tarissa Middleton, and Jacie Enabnit; 8 great-grandchildren; sister
Kathy (Bob) Simmons; sister-in-law Jenny (Phil) Haaland; and several nieces and
nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son Troy Sego; daughter-in-law Mel
Sego; sister Donna Spangler; and brother Roger Nairn.
