Shirley Irene (Anderson) Rohrer passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday January 21, 2017 at the age of 79. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, January 24 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 608 2nd Avenue North East in Clarion. Burial services will be held graveside at St. John's Catholic Cemetery immediately following the conclusion of Mass. A Rosary will be said starting at 4:30 p.m. at Ewing Funeral Home in Clarion on Monday, January 23rd, with visitation following from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Shirley was born in Clarion, Iowa on August 14th 1937 to Curtis and Margaret Anderson. She graduated from Clarion High School in 1955. Shirley married Gary Rohrer on January 5, 1957. This union was blessed with 4 children: John, Jim, Susan and Joel. Shirley was a devoted member of St. John's Catholic Church, where she also served as Church Secretary for a number of years. She enjoyed following her children and grandchildren's athletic events, as well as a good game of cards. She is survived by her loving, devoted and caring husband Gary, with whom she just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Her three sons John (Julie) Rohrer, Jim Rohrer and Joel (Cassandra) Rohrer; four grandchildren: Nick (Meggie) Rohrer, Jessica (Ryan) Nail, Macoy Rohrer and Ava Rohrer; four great-grandchildren: Quinn and Chloe Rohrer and Kinlee and Elsie Nail; one sister Nancy (Tom) Ramsell. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, her father and mother-in-law Harold and Della Rohrer and her daughter Susan and son-in-law Daryl McGrath. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be provided to the family to give to charities of their choice.
