Obituary


Stanley Eugene Tripp, 82, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 1995 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Stanley, the son of Norris and Florence (Paine) Tripp, was born January 25, 1913 on a farm south of Kanawha.  He attended the Kanawha rural schools.  In December 1939, he was united in marriage to Myrna Hughes, and to this union six children were born.  Stanley owned his own trucking and corn shelling business.  During W.W. II, he served as a member of the U.S. Navy from April 10, 1944 to Decemeber 19, 1945.  After returning from the military service he managed the Kanawha Pool Hall and was a welder and machinist in various implement dealerships in the Kanawha area.  Stanley enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a member of the Kanawha United Methodist Church and the Kanahwa American Legion.

He is survived by his children, Sandra and her husband Lorin Christiansen of Rolfe, Vance of Kanawha, Dennis and his wife, Micki of Muscatine, Dean of Ames, Marcia and her husband Franklin Larson of Forest City and Sheila Marzen of Algona; two sisters, Ethel Van Dusseldorp of Britt and Lorraine Falk of Mora, Minnesota; fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Earl and Leslie and a sister Hattie.
