Stanley J. Mayland, Sr.

Stanley John Mayland, 75, of Britt passed away peacefully on January 2, 2023 at Hancock County Health Systems.

Graveside services for Stanley Mayland will be held at a later date.

Stanley, the son of Walbert Sr. and Caroline (Meyer) Mayland, was born May 15, 1947 on the family farm outside of Klemme.  He graduated from Britt High School.

Stanley found his career as a mechanic working numerous years as the head mechanic at Kmart. He also worked for a Naval Ship Weapon Engineering System Mechanic in California and at Winnebago.

Stanley enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors.

Left to cherish his memories are niece and caretaker Sheila (Rod) Hoveland of Woden; great nephew and caretaker Brandon (Tina) Poncin of Pocahontas; sister June (Eldon) Ache of Kanawha; Walbert Jr. (Gloria) Mayland of Iowa Falls; daughter Glynis Collins of Henderson, Nevada; sons Stanley John Wayne Mayland of Las Vegas, Nevada and Andy Mayland of Las Vegas, Nevada along with many other nieces and nephews.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, sister Esther Shannon, two sisters in infancy Carol Ann Mayland and Mary Ellen Mayland, and nephew Michael Mayland.
