Obituary
Stella L. (Hillenga) Hayungs, 84, of Britt passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Hancock County Health Systems.
Private family memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Britt First Lutheran Church, with Pastor Willie Rosin officiating. The public can view the service live on the Britt First Lutheran Church Facebook page. Burial will take place at Bingham Township Cemetery.
Stella the daughter of Harm and Lydia (Stohr) Hillenga was born on June 23, 1936 in Hancock County Iowa. She was baptized and made profession of faith in the Christian Reformed Church in rural Woden.
On February 22, 1957 she was united in marriage to Harold Hayungs at the Woden Christians Reformed Church. After they retired from farm life, they moved to Britt in April of 2000 and joined First Lutheran Church.
Their home was blessed with two sons and two daughters: Gary and Diana Hayungs, Randy and Liz Hayungs, Sherri and Bruce Logemann, and Paula and Scott Davis.
She enjoyed her wonderful family, church, grandchildren, friends and relatives. She enjoyed baking, Bible studies, going to the cabin, fishing, reading and playing cards.
She is survived by her husband, and children, four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren, two brothers, Marlin and Sheri Hillenga and Marvin and Sharon Hillenga, one sister-in-law Arlene and Don Smith and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, one daughter-in-law, three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
