Obituary


Steven L. Keller, 53, of Clarion passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.

Funeral services for Steven Keller will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Center Avenue East in Clarion with Mr. Stan Watne officiating. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, and will continue one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Steven Lee Keller was born on February 14, 1962 to Dean and Carolyn (Muhlenbruck) Keller in Clarion.  Steve grew up and lived his whole life in Clarion.  He graduated from an accelerated high school in Colorado, Randell-Moore, in 1980.  Steve had a never ending desire to learn and continued his formal education through St. Paul Bible College and Southwest Minnesota State University.

Steve met the love of his life, Donna Flett, in Kindergarten, they have remained best friends ever since and were united in marriage on September 2, 1995 at the Missionary Alliance Church in Blairsburg, Iowa. They made their home in Clarion.  Steve worked different jobs around Clarion with the latest one being the “biscuit man” at Hardee’s. He also made a career as Theologian.

Steve had a passion for reading, owning thousands of books with his favorites being Science Fiction and History.  He also enjoyed various genres of music.   Donna and he liked spending time together going to many Renaissance Fairs and participating in Star-Trek fan clubs.

Steve had a unique talent of being able to talk to anyone; being very intelligent, he could debate any subject they chose.  Having a big heart, Steve was quick to forgive and was never guilty of holding a grudge.

Steve is survived by his wife Donna of Clarion; parents Dean and Carolyn Keller of Clarion; brothers Joseph (Stacey) Keller and Dale (Julie) Keller both of Clarion; nieces Jenna (Grant) Booth of Ankeny and Ashley Keller of Clarion; nephews Joey (Candace) Keller of Clarion, Jon (Lynette) Keller of Clarion, Waylon (Breanne) Keller of Clarion, Austin (Taylor) Keller of Clarion; great nieces and nephews; along with many friends.

Steve is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and nephew Eddie Keller.
