Stiliyan N. Savov, 55, of Dows passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery in Dows. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion. Stiliyan Nikolov Savov was born on March 20, 1966 in Bulgaria. Stiliyan grew up and attended school in Bulgaria. After high school, he joined the Bulgarian military. Stiliyan enjoyed traveling and spent time in different countries before immigrating to the United States in 1994. He worked for a dairy farmer in Iowa Falls and moved to Dows. In July of 2007, Stiliyan was united in marriage to Zhan Yi in China. They settled in Dows where they raised their children. In 2008, Stiliyan started Aspen Tree Service. If he wasn't working, he was busy fixing things or playing with his kids. He loved riding his motorcycle and taking the kids on an ATV ride. Stiliyan is survived by his wife Zhan of Dows; his five children Naiden of Fort Dodge, Alex of Cedar Rapids, Savana, Nick, and Sofia of Dows; and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
