Obituary


Tena G. Trapp, 90, passed away Monday, September 26, 1994 at the Kanawha Community Home in Kanawha, Iowa.

Tena, the daughter of Fred and Gertrude (Assink) Freerksen, was born on a farm near Kanawha on September 26, 1904.  She attended country schools, where she taught Bible classes.  She later then attended Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis.

On June 17, 1944 she was united in marriage with Leslie Trapp in Rochester, Minnesota.  The couple farmed in the Rochester area. While they farmed they served at a Christian Border Mission near Hildalgo, Texas in the winters.  Mr. Trapp passed away on July 19, 1979.  In April 1983 she became a resident of the Kanawha Community Home in Kanawha, Iowa.  Tena was a member of the 37th Street Baptist Church, Rochester, Minnesota.

Tena is survived by two sisters-in-law: Leona Freerksen of Jenison, Michigan; Dorothy Freerksen of Lakewood, Colorado; also several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers: George, Henry, Alfred and Ion; one sister, Thealine.
