Thelma Rose Cudlae, 82, of Clarion, Iowa, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2006 at
Mary Greely Medical Center, Ames, IA. Funeral services for Thelma Claude will be
held at 10:30 AM Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Woolstock Methodist Church with
Reverend Mary Green officiating. Burial will be held in the French Church
Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2006 from 5 to 7 PM at
the Ewing Dugger Helgeson Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street in Clarion and one
hour prior to services at the church. Thelma Rose Claude was born in Pocahontas,
Iowa on August 14, 1923 to parents Alfred Rude and Ebon Anderson Rude. She was
raised and educated in the Pocahontas area. She attended Grant #8 County School.
She then attended Pocahontas High School where she graduated in 1941. Shortly
after graduating she moved to Fort Dodge. She married Harold J. Claude in 1950
in Fort Dodge. They settled in the Woolstock area where they farmed until 1987.
In 1987 they retired and moved to Eagle Grove, where they remained until Harold
passed away. In 1996 Thelma moved to an apartment in Clarion. Then in December
of 2003 she entered the USA Health Care Center in Clarion. Thelma enjoyed
reading and sewing. She also enjoyed working on the farm, she always had a
garden. She participated in card clubs which she enjoyed as well. Thelma was a
member of the Woolstock Church and a member of the auxiliary for 46 years.
