Obituary
Thomas John Smith, 51, of Britt, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2006, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.
Thomas, the son of Jack and Leona (Smidt) Smith, was born April 28, 1955 in Britt. He started school in Britt then moved to California where he went to high school. He later attended a tech school in California.
Thomas moved back to Iowa about 18 years ago and was employed at Winnebago Industries in Forest City. The last few years he has been unable to work due to health reasons.
Thomas enjoyed being outside, loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, fishing and boating. He was sharp witted and had a great sense of humor. He was a true kid at heart.
Thomas is survived by two children: Nicole (Matthew) Jones of Maysville, Kentucky and Joshua (Kristy) Sgantas of Casper, Wyoming; his parents Jack and Leona Smith of Britt; three grandchildren: Bryce, Skyla, Kaden; two brothers: Gary (Donna) Smith, David Smith; two nephews: Johnathan and Ben Smith and one niece, Nicole Smith.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one brother, Mark Smith in 2000.
