Todd Mortensen, 59, of Britt, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at his home in Britt, Iowa.

Funeral service for Todd will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Faith Bible Church, 707 4th St SW, Britt, Iowa 50423.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Faith Bible Church and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. 

Todd Timothy Mortensen, the son of John and Catherine (Rose) Mortensen, was born December 8, 1966, in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up on his family farm near Crystal Lake and graduated from Crystal Lake High School in 1985.

After high school, Todd farmed for a time before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country and was honorably discharged, due to his father’s health, to operate the family farm.

Todd was united in marriage to Betsy Ennen on June 5, 1993, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple made their home in Britt, where they raised their daughter, Morgan. Todd owned and operated Homesite Appraisals.

Todd enjoyed fishing, hunting, and growing vegetables in his garden. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering on the West Hancock Eagles, Iowa Hawkeyes, and later the Iowa State Cyclones. He was a faithful member of Britt Faith Bible Church, where he enjoyed ushering most Sundays.

Todd enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially loved time spent with his grandchildren and with his many friends, who he considered family. Most of all, Todd loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years Betsy Mortensen of Britt; daughter Morgan (Mark) Kelly of Ankeny; grandchildren Maclaine, Bria, Cameron, Britt and Corbin; sister Lisa (Mark) Greiman; mother-in-law Verla Ennen; brothers-in-law Bruce (Leigh) Ennen and Bart Ennen; uncle Gary (Laurie) Porth; cousin Julie Weydert; nieces Brooke (Ben) Vrbicek and Sarah (Tyler) Rew; nephew Major (Erin) Ennen along with other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Alvin Ennen, and other family members.
