Obituary


Tracy Marie Bonker, 93, passed away, Thursday, September 17, 1998, at the Westview Care Center in Britt, Iowa.

Tracy, the daughter of Simon and Pauline (Kuka) Peka, was born October 13, 1904, the twin sister of Hattie Peka on a farm near Elmdale, Minnesota.

Tracy moved with her family to the Bertha, Minnesota area in 1911, receiving her education in a rural school, finishing 8th grade in Morrison County.  She married Clarence E. Bonker May 2, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI.  Later they moved to Mason City, Iowa then Britt, Iowa.

She loved to garden and kept a well manicured lawn.  She loved to travel and was an avid bowler, belonging to many leagues. Tracy was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, a member of the Rosary Guild, holding many offices.  She loved to cook for the priests when they would gather in Britt for various meetings.

Tracy entered Westview Care Center July of 1993 after suffering a stroke, leaving her unable to live alone in her own home.

She is survived by two sisters: Helen Fraune of Bertha, MN and Verona Freitag of Wadena, MN; one brother George Peka of Glenwood, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; two brothers: Paul Peka, Richard Peka and four sisters: Anna Johnson, twin sister Hattie Kretsch, Emma Piere and infant sister Margaret.
