Obituary


Victoria (Vicki) Quigley, 70, Belmond, died March 30, 2016 at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond after a graceful and courageous battle with cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held April 4 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Belmond. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery near Belmond.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Belmond-Klemme Scholarship Foundation Two, Wright County Public Health, Friends of the Belmond Public Library, or the Belmond Hospital Foundation.

Victoria Jean, daughter of Fred and Phyllis Packard Pals, was born August 20, 1945 in Belmond. Vicki grew up in Belmond and graduated from Belmond High School in 1963. She attended Iowa State Teachers College and NIACC. After college, Vicki moved to Minneapolis and worked for Cargill.

On January 30, 1969 Vicki married Frank Quigley at Holy Family Catholic Church. They made their home in Minneapolis for a couple of years before moving back to Belmond. The couple was blessed with three children: Joell, Ross and Jerilyn. Vicki was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Vicki not only co-owned and worked at P&G Market for many years, but loved to serve as your shopping assistant, meal planner, and recipe adviser. She greeted everyone with a big smile and a warm welcome; her infectious laugh brightened many days.

She loved to host family gatherings at their home and having a full house. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching her children and grandchildren in all their activities. Vicki enjoyed being a part of the Red Hat Ladies and her many different coffee groups.

She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws.

Vicki is survived by her husband Frank of Belmond; daughter Joell Quigley and son Xavier of Ankeny; son Ross (Amy) Quigley and daughter Eliza and son Reid of Urbandale; daughter Jerilyn (Boone) Oshel and daughters Shaeli Jean and Nyla of Ankeny; and her brother Dean Pals.
