Violet was born April 25, 1937 to Henry and Gladys (Carlson) Baade in Titonka.
She attended country schools and later graduated from Titonka High School as a
member of the Class of 1954.
On March 6, 1955, she was united in marriage to Kenzy L. Korte at Good Hope
Lutheran Church in Titonka. The couple eventually settled on a farm east of
Woden, where they farmed and raised their family. In 1987, Kenzy retired from
farming due to ill health, and they moved into Woden from the farm.

more than 30 years, retiring in 1998.
Violet was a lifelong Lutheran, having been raised, confirmed and married at
Good Hope in Titonka and as a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Woden ever
since. She was active in various circles at church, and as a longtime member of
the Woden American Legion Auxiliary.
Violet was content with the simple things in life. She cherished time with her
children and grandchildren, baking and cooking for them, working hard and
serving as caregiver for her parents, aunt and husband. Later in life, she and
her special friend Don attended Bluegrass music festivals near and far.
Violet is survived by her children, Sharla (Roger) Wellik of Forest City, Joea
Korte of Boone and Jeffrey (Diane) Korte of Forest City; twelve grandchildren;
15 great-grandchildren; loving partner of 18 years, Don Fritz; sisters-in-law
Patsy Jenkins of Arizona and Janice Baade of Titonka; along with other extended
family members and friends.

Donald Baade and great-granddaughter Samantha Wellik.
