Obituary
Virginia Gail Yeakel, 77, passed away Friday, September 19, 1997, at the Kanawha Community Home.
Virginia, the daughter of James and Joanna "Sophia" (Rose) Townsend, was born October 18, 1919, near Britt, Iowa. She attended Britt schools, graduating from Britt High School in 1937.
She was united in marriage with Duane Yeakel in May of 1945 in Britt, Iowa. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kanawha, the United Methodist Women, and served as church treasurer for many years. She dedicated her life to her husband and three children, faithfully fulfilling her God-given role as wife and mother.
Survivors include her three sons: James of Kanawha; Gregory and his wife, Sue of Story City; Randolph and his wife, Darla of Kanawha; eight grandchildren: Jennifer, Jamie, Gabriel, Rowena, Nathanael, Mackenzie, Keaton and Quinn; one sister: Lucille Roe of Davis, California; and one brother: Marvin Townsend of Garner.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers: Everett, Alvin and Robert, and one infant sister, Marian.
