Obituary


Vivian Eileen Fraser, 89, of Eagle Grove, formerly of Galt, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012, at Wright Medical Center in Clarion.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at First Lutheran Church, 420 1st Street North West in Clarion, with Pastor Ron Nelson officiating. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.  

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Vivian Eileen Lester was born August 3, 1922 at Ledyard, Iowa, the daughter of John and Emma (Hansen) Lester.  Later the family moved to Goldfield, where she attended school.

She was united in marriage to Glenn Fraser at Garner, Iowa.  To this union one daughter Sharon was born.

Vivian was a homemaker and very devoted mother and grandmother.  The couple spent many winters in Yuma, Arizona where she learned to paint landscapes of the southwest.  She and Glenn were avid rock collectors and gave many tours through their rock museum to schoolchildren.

Vivian is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Ed) Ludwig of Rockwell City, Iowa; Grandaughters, Phyllis (Darwin) Jacobson of Woolstock, Iowa and Diane (Quin) Sutherland of San Diego, California; grandson, Maury (Cathy) White of Roland, Iowa; great-granddaughters, BreAnn (Ted) Paxton, Brendelyn White and friend Eric Juergens, Cherie (Brian) Fritz and Carly Jacobson; great-grandson, Brandon (Nicole) Sutherland; two step great-granddaughters; one great-great grandchild; three step great-great grandsons and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, her parents, sister, two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law and three step-brothers.
