Wayne Delmar Bennewitz, age 81, passed away at his home, on July 19, 2005. Funeral services for Wayne Bennewitz will be Saturday, July 23, 2005, at 2:00 PM at the Ewing Dugger Helgeson Funeral Home 100 North Lee Street in Dows with Pastor David Gobeli officiating. Burial will take place Saturday at Morgan Township Cemetery in rural Dows, Iowa. Visitation will be Saturday, July 23, 2005, one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Wayne Delmar Bennewitz, son of Henry and Minnie (Warschkow) Bennewitz was born February 11, 1924 at Hampton. He was raised and educated in the Dows area attending Morgan Country School #7 until the 8th grade. He then attended school in Dows. Wayne enjoyed farming, and had farmed most of his adult life near Dows. He loved auto racing, fixing cars, and general mechanical work. He was a member of the Farm Bureau. Everyone thought Wayne had a nice smile. Wayne is survived by his sister, Eileen Johnson and her husband Henry of Parkersburg; two nieces; one nephew; three great-nephews; four great nieces; and one great-great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Minnie.
