Obituary
Wayne J. Watts, age 86, of Dows, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Hansen Family Hospital, Iowa Falls.
Wayne, son of Kenneth and Bertha Wallace Watts, was born March 16, 1929 in New Sharon, Iowa, where he grew up and attended school. On March 16, 1950, he was united in marriage to Marcella Joan Boatman. The couple made their home in several different towns in Iowa, settling in Colo in 1965. The couple had three children. Wayne attended business school, and worked in the agriculture industry for most of his life until retirement. He was a manager for several Coops in the state, when he and his family moved to Colo, IA, and he bought a feed mill, Nevada Feed & Seed in Nevada, Iowa, which Wayne owned and managed until retirement in 1991. After retirement, Wayne and Joan ran a successful antiques business, traveling to shows throughout the South and the Midwest. Wayne always enjoyed his garden, and attending events of his family and grandchildren.
Wayne is survived by his wife Joan, Dows; children Deb (Dave) Oelmann, Dows, IA; Pam Watts, Richmond, VA, and Randy (Diana) Watts, Colo, IA; his brother Dale (Pat) Watts, Montezuma, IA; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Bertha Wallace Watts, brother Robert, and Robert’s wife Lois.
