Wilbur Wason, 95, of Clarion passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, under
the care of Gateway Hospice at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion, Iowa.
Memorial services for Wilbur Wason will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019, at
1:30 PM at the United Presbyterian Church, 219 1st Street North West in Clarion,
with Pastor Bill Kem officiating. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in
Clarion.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Wilbur was born March 4, 1924 to George and Emma Wason of Clarion, Iowa. Wilbur
was raised on the family farm and attended Grant #7 Country School.
On December 28, 1947, Wilbur was united in marriage to Beverly Keith at the
Rowan Congregational Church. To this union, six children were born: Gene,
George, Diane, Don, Deb and Betty.
Wilbur and Beverly continued to farm the family farm until their 1997
retirement. They resided on the farm until entering the care center.
Wilbur was a member of The United Presbyterian Church in Clarion.
Wilbur is survived by a son, Donald (Lori) Wason of Humboldt, Iowa and their
children, Lisa, Ashley (Joey) Krug, Matt and Rachel; daughters; Deb (Roger)
Schaeffer of Viborg, South Dakota and their children, Denise (Matt) Graves,
Kristen (Chad) Morrow and Jon (Krista) Schaeffer; Betty (Frank) Haker of Conrad,
Iowa and their children Tom Brand, Angie (Chris) Klokowski, Mike Brand; 16
great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Karen Wason; two nephews, Bruce Kreitlow
and Scott Wason; and one niece Iris Nickelson.
He is preceded by his wife; parents; daughter, Diane and twin sons, George and
Gene; sister, Dorothy Kreitlow and brother, Bill Wason.
The family would like to thank you for your kindness and expressions of
sympathy. A special thank you to the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center
where Wilbur resided for the past 5 years. Also, to Gateway Hospice for your
care given to Wilbur.
