William Henry "Bill" Gehrke, 82, Lawrence, Kansas, formerly of Britt, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Graveside service for William Gehrke will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt, Iowa with Mr. Jim Sweers officiating. William Henry was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Henry Albert and Mabel (Moeckley) Gehrke. William graduated from Britt High School with the class of 1953. He serviced his country in the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command. He married Colleen Kay Wilson on November 4, 1957. He was a self-employed mechanic at Bill's Alignment & Brake in Lawrence. Bill is survived by his wife Colleen: son, Monte K. Gehrke; daughter, JoAnn Gehrke Kibbee; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and brother, Robert Gehrke and his wife, Patricia and their family.
