William J. Rasmuson, 72, of Britt, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Society in Forest City. Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 10:30 AM at the Britt Christian Reformed Church - At The Crossroads Ministries, 569 Main Avenue North in Britt, with Pastor Joel DeBoer officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 178 Center Street West in Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. William James, son of William and Carol (Cosgrif) Rasmuson, was born on July 22, 1950 in Forest City. Bill grew up in Britt and graduated from Britt High School in 1968. After high school, Bill worked at the Standard Oil Station until he started farming on the family farm. In 1968, Bill was united in marriage with Donna Brunsen. They were blessed with two children; Troy born in 1971 and Traci born in 1974. Bill moved to Missouri in 1985. While he was there, Bill worked at a drug and alcohol treatment center until 1997. Bill later went back to school and received his Bachelors of Science in psychology in 1989, Masters of Arts in community counseling in 1997, and Masters of Science in industrial management in 2006. Bill moved back to the family farm in Britt in 2007. Bill loved his gardens and spent many hours working in his gardens. He started Eagle Lake Gardens and sold his produce at many local farmer's markets. Bill also enjoyed fishing and trapping. Bill was avid in starting farmer's markets in several area communities. Bill is survived by his son Troy (Brook) Rasmuson of Belmond; daughter Traci (Dan) Goll of Garner; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Katie, Alek, Paige, Erik, Allison, Emma, Colton and Liberty; great-grandchildren Eleanor and Tucker; fiancée and life partner Amy Griffey of Britt; sister Marge Schrader of St. Paul, Minnesota; brother Jim Rasmuson of Britt; and  brother-in-law Raymond Bruns. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Bob (Erlis) Rasmuson; and sister Marilyn Bruns.
