Obituary


Wilma Grace Friesleben, 95, of Clarion passed away Monday, January 13, 2014, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.

Funeral services for Wilma Friesleben will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at 2:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church, 420 1st Street North West in Clarion with Pastor Ron Nelson officiating.  Burial will be at Belmond Municipal Cemetery in Belmond.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church , 420 1st Street North West in Clarion and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church.

Wilma Grace Haupt was born on May 27, 1918, in Wibaux, Montana to Frank and Katherine "Kate"(Smith) Haupt. She attended schools in the Belmond/Rowan area. Wilma loved to dance and met Hartley Friesleben at a dance in Belmond. They were married on February 14, 1940, and shared 73 years together. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending winters in McAllen, Texas. Wilma was very active throughout her life and learned to ride a bike at age 65 and play the organ in her seventies.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Clarion.

Wilma is survived by her husband, Hartley; sons, Harvey (Darlene) Friesleben and Harley (Diane) Friesleben; grandchildren, Todd (Lisa) Friesleben, Jeff (Alison) Friesleben, Michelle (Corey) Peters and Melinda Friesleben; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lorraine Johnson and Helen Ahrens and brother, Duane (Darilyn) Haupt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Minnie and Mildred and brothers, Ed, Alvin, Bernard, Robert, Donald, Raymond and Leo.
