Obituary


Netha (Kitts) Pool, 88, of Eagle Grove, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion, Iowa.

Funeral Services for Netha (Kitts) Pool will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at the Nazarene Church, 1010 2nd Street South West in Clarion with Pastor Dana Wendell officiating. Burial will take at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue in Clarion. The visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Netha Lynn (Kitts) Pool, the youngest daughter of Louis and Maggie (Humphrey) Kitts, was born on July 13, 1935 in Portales, New Mexico. She graduated from Portales High School with the class of 1953.

She was united in marriage to Rex Pool on February of 1955. To this union, four children were born Lynn, Diana, Terry and Kelly. The family lived in various areas of the United States before settling in Vincent, Iowa. The couple raised their family in the Fort Dodge area before finally settling in Eagle Grove.

Netha started her career with the United States Post Office working as a Clerk for Vincent office. She then worked at the Woolstock office as the Post Master. She was there a number of years before retiring when she was 75.

When she wasn’t working Netha enjoyed bowling and being around her family. She was a faithful member of the Clarion Nazarene Church. She will be missed for her good sense of humor, her teasing and cute jokes.

She is survived by her son Lynn Pool of Eagle Grove, daughter Diana Allen of Fort Dodge, and son Kelly (Deb Callies-Pool) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; her grandchildren Courtney Pool, Spencer Pool, Tansy Callies-Flannery, Michelle (Zeb) Stoebick, Naomi (Andrew) Starr, Lisa Hanson, Kayla Allen and Rachel Allen; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982, her son Terry and four siblings.
