Obituary


Pauline D. (Conley) Fjetland, 91, of Goldfield, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday.

Pauline Delores Conley was born on August 18, 1932, at home near Lehigh, Iowa to Joseph and Violet (Reuter) Conley. She attended country school, Webster City and Clarion Schools.

She was married to Wilford Peterson and they had two daughters, Pamella and Debra. They later divorced. In 1983, she married Galen Fjetland. Pauline was the bookkeeper and performed numerous duties for the Fjetland Oil Station, G and B Convenience Store, and Goldfield Laundromat and Car Wash.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wayne Conley, sister-in-law, Ilys Conley and son-in-law Michael McPeak.

She is survived by her husband Galen Fjetland of Goldfield; daughters Pamella McPeak of Ames and Debra (Mark) Pate of Leawood, Kansas; grandchildren Tricia (Joel) Blanchard, Brian McPeak, Stephen (Kristal)  Pate, Tessa (Nick) Braun and Grant (Jayna) Pate; great grandchildren Paige and Payton Blanchard, Emma and Molly McPeak, Ethan, Aidan and Liam Pate, Tatum and Hailee Murray, Mackinzy Braun, Maya and Connor Pate as well as two step great grandchildren Angie Merrill and Ben Blanchard along with nieces and a nephew.

Pauline will be remembered for her strong work ethic, ease of conversation with anyone and sparkling personality. She was adored by all of her family and will be greatly missed.
