Angela E. (Klein) Dummett, 93, of Britt, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at her home in Britt.

Memorial services for Angela Dummett will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West, in Britt. Burial will take place at a later date.

Visitation for Angela Dummett will be held from 9:00 - 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West, in Britt.

Angela E. Dummett was born on March 10, 1931 on a farm near Granville, Iowa, to Theodor and Mary (Hoffmann) Klein.  She grew up in Ashton, Iowa, attending St. Joseph School and graduating in 1949.

Angie married William Dummett on February 12, 1952 at St. Mary’s Church in Ashton.  They lived in Osage until 1954, when they moved to Britt, where they opened and ran the Dummett Bakery through 1988.  She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Britt. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and other crafts.  Her family will always remember her cooking and family gathering.  In 2019, Angie moved to the Summit House where she enjoyed coffee and visiting with her friends.

Angie is survived by her three sons: Terry of Algona, Steve (Jaci Thorson) of Forest City, and Jim (Paula) of Clear Lake; five grandchildren: Mark (Emily) Dummett, Scott (Shannon) Dummett, Michelle (Jason) Provenzano, Brad (Shauna) Dummett and Todd (Haley) Dummett; seven great-grandchildren: Piper, Graham, Foster, Owen, Blake, Ava and Willow.  She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Georgia Klein and Margie Klein.

Angie was preceded in death by her husband in 1998, and infant son, Thomas, in 1958; her parents; two sisters: Sylvia and Christine; and seven brothers: Edwin, Andrew, Sylvester, Leo, Richard, Louis and Marvin.

Angie’s family suggests memorials may be left to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Britt or to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Hospice of North Iowa for the care that Angie received.
