Obituary
Bertha A. Foster, 79, of Britt passed away Saturday, August 4, 2001 at the Muse Norris Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Bertha, the daughter of Jens and Camilla (Christianson) Jensen was born April 16, 1922 in Britt. She graduated from Britt High School in 1939, and then attended Britt Jr. College.
Bertha was united in marriage with Robert Foster on February 21, 1942. The couple resided in the Britt area until Robert was called to serve his country in 1943. Following his discharge from the Army, they moved to a farm near the Upper Flat Church north of Britt where Bertha has since resided.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Bertha is survived by four daughters: Judy Crockett of Ankeny, Janet Johnson and her husband, Leonard of Des Moines, Jeanne Martin and her husband, John of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Joan O'Connell and her husband, Harley of Cedar Falls; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothea Wieland Erickson and her husband, Glenn of Clear Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert in 1998, one daughter Jacqlyn, one great-grandson John Robert Martin and one infant brother Nels.
