Clara A. Jackson, 91, of Yakima, Washington, formerly of the Kanawha area passed away on Sunday, February 21, 1999 at Central Health Care Center in Yakima, Washington.
Clara was born on July 2, 1907, in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Bessie (Carr) Berhow. Clara married James Alvin Jackson.
In 1945, the family moved to the Yakima area. Clara was a homemaker. She loved and enjoyed being wither her family, reading, crocheting, cooking, canning, and gardening. She had a sense of humor.
Survivors include her children and their spouses: Leonard Jackson of Lacy, Washington, Helen and Jack Acord of Selah, Washington, Arnold and Jean Jackson of Yakima, Washington, Celia Cantrell of Turlock, California, Jay and Karen Jackson of Yakima, Washington and Sharon and Jerry Landon or Kennewick, Washington; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Edith Terhark of Clarion, Iowa, Edna Riekens of Forest City, Iowa, Ruth Lotspeitch of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Ruby Zeigler of Kanawha, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Jackson in October, 1968, sons Albert and Larry Jackson and daughters Velda Bishop and Janice Smeltzer, brothers Galen and James Berhow and sisters Verla Nelson and Esther Egemo.
