Obituary
Dale Royce Moeckly, 89, passed away Friday, March 22, 1991 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.
Dale, the son of Jacob and Lena (Gemricher) Moeckly was born March 21, 1902 at Crocker, Iowa. He attended the county schools in the Polk City area and worked on the family farm.
On June 10, 1925 Dale was united in marriage with Sibea Thompson at Des Moines, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Polk City area until 1944 when they bought a farm near Britt. Dale had been a resident of the Westview Care Center in Britt since 1987.
He attended the Congregational United Church of Christ in Britt. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge and he was an avid reader.
Mr. Moeckly was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sibea who passed away December 28, 1988; a daughter-in-law, Sherrill Moeckly who passed away in 1976; four sisters and one brother.
Survivors include one son, Charles Moeckly of Britt, Iowa; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
