Obituary
Dennis R. Kreitlow, 81, of Dows, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday, October 24, 2025.
Burial will be at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Fairview Cemetery in Dows with military honors.
Dennis Ray, son of Lauren and Luella (Senenfelder) Kreitlow, was born on April 26, 1944, in Clarion, Iowa. He was raised in the Dows and Galt area on the family farm. Dennis graduated from Dows High School and went on to farm alongside his father until his father’s passing in 1999. In 1965, Denny joined the Army Reserves, serving as part of the Light Weapons Infantry. He was honorably discharged in 1971 after serving six years.
Dennis married Karen Moss on January 26, 1980, and together they made their home on the family farm. They shared a life built on hard work and quiet joy until Karen’s passing in 1986. After farming, Denny continued working at the Co-Op in Dows and later at the Dows Rest Area.
He was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings. Denny found joy and companionship later in life with his longtime partner, Janet Reisner. They’ve enjoyed the last 38 years together. Together, they loved spending time at their cabin in Spirit Lake, fishing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
Denny is survived by his brother Dean (Vicki) Kreitlow of Nebraska; special companion Janet Reisner of Fort Dodge; daughters Janine Anderson (Sean Herridge) of Fort Dodge and Rhonda (Necota) Davis Smith of Illinois; grandchildren Jaron (Dana) Davis of Las Vegas, Tyler (Mariah) Davis of Las Vegas, Ashley (Russ) Fusco of Wisconsin, Carter Anderson of Fort Dodge, Jaymison Tritten of Fort Dodge, and Brianna Anderson of Fort Dodge; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Karen; parents; sister Carol Davidson; and brother Duane Kreitlow.
